Hakima EL HAITE

Dr. Hakima El Haite is a living example of how bold vision and persistent action can transform not only one’s life, but the world.

Born in Fès, Morocco, she holds two PhDs in environmental studies and environmental engineering, and a diploma in political communication.

In 1994, she founded EauGlobe, the first environmental engineering consulting firm in the MENA region.

From 2013 to 2017, she served as Minister Delegate for the Environment in the Moroccan government, shaping national environmental policies and sustainable development frameworks.

She held major global roles: Vice-President of COP21 (Paris Agreement); High-Level Climate Champion at COP22; and was elected the first non-European, first woman President of Liberal International in 2018.

Her leadership has earned global recognition: she’s been named among the “100 most influential in climate policy”, honored with the French Legion of Honour in 2016, and continues to inspire women and youth worldwide.
